Back Again - June 2023

I thought I should do yet another update : at last I've been able to get stuck into some photography , to my great joy! I thank the good Lord for His enabling. I've been amazed that so many folk remember me here and I'm enjoying the exchanges of pictures and comments again. I wish more people would post stuff on their 'About' page because I'm sure, like me, many others long to know more about the photographers' personal lives , interests, and photos.

Previous: This is a long overdue update and an admission that I may have to drop out completely at some point, but it’s all in the good Lord’s hands ....

For those of you who have been kind enough to ‘follow’ me here, you may be wondering why I haven’t been posting any new pics. Well, it’s because I had a nasty fall in March [2021] and broke my hip, so spent over a month in hospital and am now re-habbing at home, unable to do anything much except survive! Certainly not able to go out because of hazardous steps outside my flat and am needing lots of help at present. Hopefully that will change as I get stronger and more mobile.

On top of all that, some of you may be aware that I sometimes spoke about my son who had special needs etc. His health had deteriorated quite rapidly in the last year and I’m devastated to have to say that he has gone to be with Lord , so it’s been sorrow upon sorrow. Normally I would occupy myself by taking pics to take my mind off things , but that isn’t possible at present. I’m relying on the Lord’s strength to get me through and He is always faithful to His word!

I'm a Senior - now 86 - with a love of photography - especially Still Life and Macro as I spend a lot of time indoors ! I took up my hobby late in life after years spent painting and I use an Olympus OM-D camera because of it's light weight and ease of handling.

I thank the Lord for His good gifts and His wonderful creation, although marred by sin, still has plenty of beauty for us to find. My photography keeps me sane and happy !

I've joined a few on line photography-sharing sites before, but left them for various reasons. I must say that Flickr seems to be the best - I love the fact it has 'specialised' groups so that I can view and share still life, macro etc. There are such a lot of talented artists here ....
