In 2009 I got my Sony a300 DSLR and worked it hard. In the latter part of 2013 it started to fail so I replaced it with the a65 model. New camera is fab, loving the EVF and many other features. I take real pleasure in heading out on a shoot, particularly with my photo buddies - when a whole day can fly by.

I'm really lucky that I can use my photography skills at work. I gained valuable experience when I was a volunteer product photographer for a branch of Oxfam. I do some more occasional voluntary work attached to an environmental project.

Flickr is an inspirational community and fantastic resource. I like to acknowledge those images which move me on an intellectual and/or aesthetic level.

I am always surprised and delighted when someone has taken the time to comment on my work, especially constructive feedback which helps me to grow as a photographer.

However, if you feel compelled to leave a huge picture icon or flashing animation with your comment please be aware that I will be compelled to remove it. I don't get the whole concept of littering a comments section with large/animated icons; I really don't like them so I will remove them.
