I've been lucky to know Chieska for a few years now, and I'm always impressed by her sensitivity and ability to bring out and portray the depths of whoever or whatever she's shooting. Her photostream really demonstrates that bit about colour vs b/w: "When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls!" ~Ted Grant Chi does amazing things with cameras and it's always an exciting treat to see that she's posted something new. I know I need to work on my game before I can hope to regularly post work of any comparable quality, and Chi is one of the barometers I gauge myself against when I think I'm hot shit and need to be humbled.

i would like to say something new about your photos but i don´t want to repeat me. Your work is great. Your work has something so difficult to explain. The Chieska´s soul is in your photos and is big ... VERY, VERY BIG. You are one of my favs. and inspiration to my own work. Congrats my friend.

she plays the tourist bit, aiming at a criminal, a smile and a bow, she races away before he changes his grinding teeth into a return smile. Little does he know he just faced a ninja with a camera. Watch out for this soul thief with a cute face.

Extraordinary sample of sensibility, this great visual poet, this pleasure to your eyes, this balm to your soul: Chieska heals. Thank you Chieska for making me wiser, for allowing me bath in beauty, for letting me see beyond.

Someone said photography, in a way, is the negation of chronology. I think the work of this great and courageous woman is the proof of that stament. Someone said photography, in a way, is the negation of chronology. I think the work of this great and courageous woman is the proof of that stament. Chieska seeks in a world where no refuge is possible and –that’s the miracle for me– find always the other side of the look, a creative reincarnation of the past make from the future. Sometimes I think she is an emisary of a forgotten but never ending belief: the human being as the center of all creations and, at the same time, of all isolations. Drown in these waters. You can breath down there.
