wooooo, YAY! i get to leave the first testytesty for john! and it's about damn time, too, cos the man is GOOD. and i mean GOOD. he's one of those photographers whose streams you savor; you even wait sometimes, to let the joy build up, cos when you come visit, it'll be like christmas -- load and loads of fabulousness. what impresses me the most, i think, is his range. he does amazing, unusual, introspective portraits. he does macros of everyday things. he does spectactular landscapes. he's a whore for color and texture -- but his black and whites are subtle and haunting, too. wait, now i know what impresses me even more than the skill. cos skill ain't squat without an eye. and he sees things that most of us miss -- the tire tracks in the sand, the side of a bench. shit we walk past without even noticing. and what is photography, without the noticing? plus, he's funny. and oh, how melikes the funny.
