Stewart Macdonald
Drag to set position!
I'm a consultant in both IT and biology, based in Brisbane, Queensland.
I like snakes. Many people post pictures of snakes on Flickr, but fail to identify them correctly. If I see a missing or an incorrect ID, I'll leave a comment. Usually these comments are brief - please don't be offended by my brevity.
Most of my contacts below caught my attention due to their photos of wildlife (especially Australian reptiles). All the contacts marked as friends are people I've met in real life.
If you leave a comment containing an animated graphic or some other hideous graphic, I'll probably delete it.
I shoot with a Nikon D200. If I'm photographing wildlife, I generally use my Nikkor 105mm VR macro lens or my Sigma 10-20mm wide angle.
All of my important photos are organised into sets. The best place to start is in my field trip collection.
You can also browse through the tags assigned to my photos. Here are some of the more fruitful top-level tags I have:

---snake
----elapid
----python
----colubrid

The Alecia Carter person mentioned on here is a friend of mine.
All of these images are obviously copyright Stewart Macdonald or Alecia Carter. I generally don't have a problem with students/academics using my pics for educational purposes (school/university assignments, lecture slides, etc), but please contact me to let me know you're using them, and display my copyright notice ("© Stewart Macdonald") with the pics.
Please do not post any of my pictures to other web sites without my permission. I occasionally allow other people to use my images on web sites, but I'm allowing this less and less nowadays. Sorry.
Most of my photos are available for commercial use. Please contact me to negotiate terms and a fee. While I've said that I'm generally happy for my pics to be used freely by students, this does not extend to commercial clients. Commercial use of my images (e.g., in a magazine) will attract a fee.

Testimonials
Stewart takes very credible photographs.
Stewart is a great photographer and I always look foward to looking at his photos, which are always amazing. he is someone who i'd like to be like when i'm older.
Stewart's photos are inspirational, making me want to go out in the field whenever he uploads. His reptile shots are especially incredible. How he manages to see so many snakes, I have no idea.
