Andrew Sloan is a self-taught artist whose graphic, street/pop paintings and illustrations have appeared on a wide variety of surfaces and media in the past decade. From outdoor murals and restaurant walls, to cars and clothing, Sloan has developed a distinctive style incorporating vivid colors and bold outlines.

 

With a professional background in packaging design and a degree in Anthropology, Sloan creates unique, iconic images through ongoing visual cultural investigations, including: Hip-Hop Culture, Ancient Aliens, Beach Street, Rock Paintings of Peru, Aboriginal Art of Argentina and Lucha Libre Wrestling. He has exhibited extensively alongside many of today’s top contemporary artists throughout New England, as well as, Austin, Miami, Mexico City and Paris.

 

Andrew currently lives and works in Miami, where he is a fabricator of monumental sculpture at O. Haligon Fine Art and runs a Jamaican music sound system under the DJ moniker, New Sheriff. He maintains a live/work studio in Little Haiti continuing to paint, illustrate and move his characters into both traditional 3D and commercial products.
