I am an engineering seismologist by profession, an amateur photographer by interests, but by nature a full time admiror of the splendors of nature.

I first found out about Flickr through some of the most amazing photographs that I have seen (in particular those of rebekka, hkvam, and asmundur). I could never have foreseen their effects on me: inspiration, encouragement, creativity, hope, joy, excitement, optimism. I can't remember any artform inspiring me in such a way for a long time.

So, I decided to ride the wave of encouragement and creativity, and post myself some of the pictures that I have taken and am particularly fond of.

I'm constantly learning as far as photography goes, and have finally accepted the fact that it is near-impossible for me to capture the subject the way that my eye sees it using JUST the camera. By posting pictures here and looking at other's photos I'm hoping to learn a few things so that my pictures keep on improving (whatever subjective meaning that word carries ;-)
