Since I could hold a camera capturing and conserving a specific moment deeply fascinated me. After "borrowing" my dad's camera every once in a while my parents acknowledged my fascination and kindly sponsored it.

 

After experimenting with lots of sometimes simple analog cameras, I developed an interest in black & white photography, mainly because it offered the possibility of processing the images by myself.

 

The absence of color basically marked my further intrest, that can be seen in some of todays shots. It is the fascination for textures and surfaces.

 

By my 16th birthday I started travelling, always accompanied by my Nikon 801s. Together we marched the dusty Australian Outback, wandered the rainy Scottish Highlands, discovered the dry middle west of the US.

 

With my travel to me the human landmarks like churches and buildings started to loose importance, but the fascination of nature grew stronger and stronger. Aside untamed landscapes and places since then I try to capture the small things aside the path. The hidden beauty in the small things that to many stays unnoticed.
