Photography is the art of theft. The ability to simply steal a moment from time to be yours forever.

A perfect photograph was a perfect moment. However, moments may pass us by, a photograph will always remain.

I need to make a quick note because what i prefer to photograph has evolved. I make a point of avoiding using a high-spec camera. My photos are generally taken with my phone. Often diary-esque. Especially with the flickr365 project. So nearly every photo has a personal meaning even if its not technically amazing.

I'd like to add that i really do prefer black and white photography. I picked up on this very late. What i admire is shapes and forms and i feel colour distracts a lot from that. I love texture and light. In my view, once you take a photo in colour, we react subjectively towards the moment. However, sans colour and i believe you see in the way everyone else sees, and I see the photo. Its become a stylistic thing.
