How can I describe myself? I'll just let my photographs do it for me...
Please note that I'm not a professional photographer. I just shoot so I can share my emotions and feelings with the world.
Also, I'm rather old-fashioned when it comes to image manipulation. Therefore, my photographs are very close to "straight out of the camera". Usually I restrict myself to a crop, a saturation adjust, and maybe gamma correction, and even that isn't the norm. I still think we're here -- or should be -- for photography, and not artificial imaging. Call me weird.
My equipment... well... I've been using old-school SLRs since I was 7 years old. Canon FTb-N and Pentax K 1000 are good examples. I've also had studio experience, as well as developing my own films and printing my own photographs in dark rooms (don't you just love the smell of the Agfa developer).
Most of my photographs have been shot with an Olympus C-765UZ. Thankfully, I now have For a brief period, I had access to a Canon EOS 450D, which I'm I was (ab)using mercilessly. After that, I also had a Pentax K20D for a while, with two incredible lenses, one of which I managed to break. Also, the Canon 7D, Pentax Kx and numerous other DSLRs.
At some point, I hope to get a new Canon, maybe the 7D or the 5d Mk II, but I haven't made my mind up yet.
However, a camera is not going to shoot for you, therefore I'm not frantic about it. As matt duke put it very aptly, no one ever says, "nice brush, I bet it makes great paintings!".
