When I first met Simon here on Flickr, I bonded with him instantly as a result of our mutual love of trains. He's one of the most artful rail photographers I've had the privilege of knowing and, through the interesting narratives he includes with his posts, I've learned much about railroading in England, both its nostalgic history and contemporary developments. As grateful as I am for this, I'm most appreciate of Simon's unique gift for weaving meaningful life metaphors with his presentations. His knowledge of music, literature and history is clearly evident and his talent for cleverly incorporating such cultural insights is truly inspiring! It's a joy to follow Simon on Flickr and to join him and his lovely wife on their romantic journeys across the countryside.

I admire Simon's approach to photography and his musical tastes, not slavishly conventional, rather creative, though thoughtful, and thought provoking, which is where, in my view, he scores so well, generous and constructive, willing and able, some times you can see the teacher in him, that though is no critique, more a doffing of my cap to his delivery.
