Dear friends of Steve.
We have lost our friend, mentor and craftsman, sjb4photos -- Steve Brown -- who passed on last December 2nd, 2021. The first photo includes eulogies from you, his friends on Flickr. The site should bear the phrase "In Memorium" in the not too distant future. granttt73 on Flickr.
HOWEVER --
When that happens ... I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO POST OR ANSWER QUESTIONS VIA "New Activity." So if you have questions or other correspondence it must go to my Flickr Acct. which is here:?

First of all, with the new look to the flickr site, for newcomers to my photostream, I strongly suggest that you start your viewing with my Collections, and from there selecting albums that may be of interest to you.
I'm attempting here on Flickr to create a retrospective of my now half century of photography. So on my photostream you'll see a variety, from Vietnam to Switzerland to flowers to classic cars. Most of my postings are of current vintage, though I post occasional scans of more historic images, which many viewers have found interesting.
My interest in photography has generally gravitated to landscapes. However, I've tried a bit of everything, and enjoy especially classic car photography (it helps living near the "Motor City").
As of December, 2019 I am the happy owner of a Nikon D5600 digital SLR camera. My lenses are (35 mm equivalent) a 27 - 82 mm zoom and an 82 - 300 mm zoom. I use a Nikon Coolpix L26 for "pickup" photography on occasions when out and about without the big camera.
I am honored that my contact list has grown rapidly. I find that it is not possible for me to view all of your photos, though I would like to. If you make me a contact. please don't be offended if I am unable to reciprocate.

Steve's a great pressence on Flickr. Always a kind word for fellow shutter bugs. And then there is his spectacular photo work. A huge body of superbly crafted photos. Where does he get the energy?

I only recently noticed Steve's Photostream and was immediately impressed with the professional level of his photography especially his classic car collections. I myself have added many to my favorites because of the high quality and content of his photography. I have been very impressed with his courtesy to other Flickr members, his unlimited knowledge of classic cars, the way he responds in a timely manner to any inquires that other members have of his photo's and the information that he gladly shares with other members who have taken a photo but don't have any info on same. I believe Steve represents the highest of integrity with his photo's and his professionalism. Carlton Lee Harbaugh

One thing that struck me straight away when we became contacts was that Steve's work has a wonderful sense of harmony due to his incredible ability to either frame or crop a shot so brilliantly to the degree that the sum is far greater than the parts. He has given me much insight into American landscape & auto history!
The quality of Steve's Photostream, especially from my standpoint, the classic car collection, is absolutely outstanding and a pleasure to view. The picture compositions are first class. Looking forward to many more!
Steve is an absolute master with the camera! What a fantastic set of pictures! I see so many shots in his photostream and I just think that the composition could not be more spot on. The subjects that he photographs are great, and he makes them even better by working his magic with his camera! My hat's off to you, Stev… Read more
