I was born into a photographic family. My father always had several cameras around. On family vacations, we always went camping, and my dad photographed everything, especially scenery. My brother Bob, going into the Air Force in the mid 60's, sent home beautiful photos of Thailand and the Phillippines. I was fascinated with seeing the landscapes and people of another part of the world I might never see.

When my dad passed away, I was 14 and I inherited his Mamiya Sekkor. I Studied photography in high school and college and later started doing portraits and weddings freelance as a second job. Now several decades later, taking a camera with me daily is as important as my cell phone. After doing portraits and weddings for many years, my real favorite is going on photography "vacations" with my two older brothers. We travel into the backcountry of Utah, Colorado,Arizona, and Wyoming. We've gone into areas you may not see another human for even a day or more...You can't begin to describe the peace and serenity of that part of the world if you've never been there!

Currently I spend some of my time photographing my 4 dogs and 4 cats, designing and decorating dog cookies and cakes that we sell locally. I also work in a natural health food store for dogs and cats. I'm also "relearning" photography in the digital world. I alternate shooting with a 35mm Minolta and a Nikon digital.
