For me my photography is a therapeutic act. It brings me closer to nature and to God. It strengthens my affection for the awe and beauty of nature. Seeing and capturing the magnificence of nature only reinforces my belief in a spiritual being with an active hand on the world. Incorporating man-made objects into my images only reinforces the notion that man can live with nature in a symbiotic relationship and that God does have sway upon the world.
My work has been described as eerie, moody, dark and bold. The use of strong colors, dramatic light, unusual angles, innovative digital techniques and seldom used cameras and film formats allow me to create images that are strike a cord deep in the viewer. Much of my work consists of scenic countryside images while I also venture into the urban landscape as well. Many of my urban images become architectural in scope but maintain a solid connection to the natural environment.
