Before April 28th 2007 I was a good person. I was nice to people, help out whenever I could and went to church every other Sunday. I said I was a Christian and I believed in God. I asked Him into my heart 2 or 3 times even. I was living a lie. I have lied, stolen, lusted and used God’s name as a filth word. That is only four of the Ten Commandments and I knew if I looked at all of them I would be guilty of them too. I was a false convert!

Leading up to April 28th 2007 I heard God’s perfect law the Ten Commandments. I heard the word of truth. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God” Wow I was guilty! I started to look at myself the way God sees me. That is when I realized that on the Day of Judgment I would be guilty before a holy God and I deserved Hell. Titus 3:3-6 “At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior”

On April 28th 2007 I heard the good news of the gospel that Jesus did something truly amazing not just for me but for every single person on this earth. 2000 years ago He was brutally whipped, beaten and nailed to a cross and died. I heard this and I had to ask why. He stepped in and paid the price for my sin. He willingly shed His blood and died in my place so that I could be forgiven. He rose from the dead three days later and defeated death so that I will have everlasting life! But how do we respond to this good news? The bible says we must repent (turn from our sins) and trust in Jesus. I cried out to Him that He will save me and confessed my sin and put my trust in Him and I was born again. Now God sees Jesus’ righteousness on me and I am forgiven! My sin debt has been paid. My life is no longer mine but it is His.

Please don’t take my word for it, open up the bible and read it and find the truth for yourself. If you don’t know where to start I would start in John. Please don’t slip into hell because you have made up your mind about the afterlife without doing some research.
