MacRitchie Forest, Singapore by singaporebugtracker

Congratulations! You’ve found the most ordinary ant who runs after bugs from extraordinary Singapore. :-) I have been sharing my jackpots from my hikes in the forest for about 4 years. From picturing unlit to understanding how things bloom under the burst of lights, it sure took me a century. Insects may appear ordinary but once you put a macro lens in front, your eyes will go beyond stars and Mars when you telescope their desirability. :D Lo and behold, an array of brilliant hues arising in flames on the wings of a jewel beetle. And over there, check out the lustrous eyelashes on the nape of hairless caterpillars. These fascinating crawlies come in gazillions of colors, patterns, textures, scents and shapes, I truly marvel at the artistry behind them. Of course you may follow me, but isn’t it better to follow the awesome One who is the master builder of every living creature in our ecosystem? His name is Jesus; splendid nature is His self-portrait. All glory, praise and honor belong to Him!

I imagine a bug hunt with Jun to be a three course meal. The appetizer would be Jun describing where the hunt would take place and all the wonderful bugs she hopes to find. The main course would be the actual hunt, at least six hours in length, where we encountered, photographed and then let live a huge assortment of dazzling beauties too wonderful for our minds to fully comprehend. The dessert would be served back at the cabin with Jun viewing the down loaded images on a large monitor while weaving a tale of dark intrigue to accompany each photo. Where is my napkin?
