Update late April 2025: Looks like it has been nearly a year since I've been active on Flickr. Work has been relentless this last 12 months, so that's partly the reason. Otherwise, just one of those lulls. Hopefully I can get back to actually taking photos! In the meantime, there's a few things to upload, so I'm going to get to it.

I joined Flickr in June 2004 and have been a sporadic uploader since then. In 2016 I closed my account after I felt the site was moving in a direction I didn't like. After a two year break from Flickr, I decided to rejoin. I missed my activity here and SmugMug have promised to bring the site back to it's former glory, so supporting that effort makes sense.

I'm a Canon full-frame DSLR fan. I like the system and using their cameras. However, in recent times, I've been seeking to travel lighter and mostly using an iPhone. I've never really enjoyed post-processing and even Canon's JPEGs usually require some work, let alone shooting RAW. The iPhone photos on the other hand are often ready straight from the phone. They auto-upload to the Photos app on my Mac. Sometimes I give them a quick boost or crop and they're ready to post. Hard to see the downside there.

But, posting to Flickr appears to be the next hurdle! I tend to run in bursts and will go into 'browse-only' mode for months at a time, during which more and more photos build up waiting to be considered for uploading. I'll get there.
