Hello, I am Simona. I was born in Sicily in 1989.

I received my first camera when I was 3 years old. Everyone could use it but I knew it was just mine. It was a Polaroid 640SE. I immediately started to take pictures and, if the result was boring, I used to draw on that plastic and shiny surface, adding fantastic characters taken from movies, cartoons and comics.

Then at the age of 4, I had my first analogical camera: and old Kodak Star110.

I remember I spent hours in my grandparent's yard, at the age of 9, taking pictures of purple cyclamens and yellow crocus'. When people would asked me why I do this, I would reply: “I'm doing it because I am going to have my own exhibition!”. Then at the age of 14 I started Liceo Classico. I studied in a special and experimental Art course: not only Classical Greek, Latin and Philosophy but also painting, drawing, interior design and History of Art, using Giulio Carlo Argan's books as a Bible for this subject, thanks to an amazing teacher. After 5 years, I had great results, 9/10 on my final schoolwork (which was a portfolio and a brand new chair I designed, making it on my own and showing it to the examining body). I have also spent many years playing several instruments as well and studying arts, because music and images have been helping people communication for centuries.

I love cinema, literature, music. I'm Italian and it's my natural attitude. It's not a cliché.

I also enjoy writing musical reviews for webzines and blogs and this is why I would like to work not only as an artist, but as a photographer and be very involved in the musical industry.

I spent the last year in Edinburgh. Now I am back home.

I am currently studying Editorial Graphic Design at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Catania (Fine Arts) and, eventually finish the last two years studying Photography.
