My first paper sculpture was a paper sun. It was an assignment for a design class in college. I’m not sure what the point of the assignment was, but I thought it was fun and planned on making a paper moon to go with sun. Well somewhere between working full time, going to school full time and dating the sun got lost and the paper moon never happened. That was until I got married.

My wife began decorating our first apartment in a celestial theme and it was then that I remembered the paper sun from college. So while she was out shopping I recreated the sun. I took a little while longer to design the moon. We both decided we liked how these turned out so much that I created a few more. A few more became a lot more as my list of ideas grew and grew.

It’s been years now and the sculptures just keep coming. What started as a cheap way to decorate has now become an obsession.
