I live in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia in a little place called Meadows of Dan. Everyone knows everyone, there are no traffic lights and the closest grocery store is 30 miles away. This sounds back in the boonies, which it is, but I love it! More of a slow paced life here.

I handcraft lampwork glass beads and make jewelry with these beads in my little studio behind my home. I also have recently started making jewelry with vintage items such as brass, copper, lucite, glass and enamel. I've been making jewelry for around twelve years as a hobby and have explored many different types of crafts....basket making, ceramics, painting, woodwork and so on and so on. I mentioned that my hobby for many years was jewelry but my profession was the restaurant business. After spending many years owning my own restaurant I felt I had to find a more stress free life, although I love cooking for large groups of people.
