Each time Sigi displays a new picture I never know what to expect. The variety and the high quality of her work never lets the viewer down. It may be beautiful bw work, color or on occasion digital illustrations. It´s all done with a masterful eye and hand. Most photographers intentionally or unintentionally pull towards certain genres. But Sigi shoots with her heart and an enormous portion of creativity. I love her work! (The only bad thing about her is that she reminds me of my ex wife ;)

Sigi K. For me, one of the more complex and accomplished female artists on flickr. Not to notice that she “is a she” misses all the points of what makes us human and unique. No, men and women do not see the world the same – but when a woman so forcefully pushes us past that notion, and pulls us fully into their world, all that they are should be noted and celebrated. Sigi is possessed of a powerful visual style that she imprints with a personal touch, whichever way her eyes turn. Inquisitive, dynamic, strong-willed, directed, she is a human force-of-nature, and one many men, upon meeting her, would be both utterly attracted to and fear; which, at one point or another in her life, probably tickled her to no end. Many male artists reveal themselves with great passion, but not as many women do. Such passion, fearlessness, confidence and style, revealed with such artistic and creative skill, by a woman, is still desperately needed in this man’s world to let us know the power of the female spirit when barely contained. Her images occupy the screen with sensitivity and sensuality, with a directness bordering on assault (with an artist “weapon)” and still, with a beguiling feminine and feline attitude. When you wonder “just who the heck is this artist?” they’ve hit their mark. Then again, maybe it’s just the way I see things.

The main reason I joined flickr was to find artists like Sigi, her work is original and I find it so inspirational and her comments are motivating. Through her stream she has shown a wonderful country I have never visited but now feel I have and it’s captured in a magnificent way. She also lets us into her family’s life in a unique way and the people of Africa with how she captures them. Her paintings speak for themselves, superb. This isn’t just a great photostream its true art throughout and certainly opens my eyes and mind to more every time I look at it.

My dear friend Sigi is one of the most exceptional artists I know. You don't just view her photos and art, you feel them! It's as if you were there, experiencing the emotion of the rush of colors that often project their presence, or in one of her fabulous black and whites amidst the landscapes of the wild. There is no middle of the road work from Sigi; her work is top notch, whether it is a photo or an oil painting. Sigi always takes time to comment on the photos of others, whether she is at home or on a trip, and is supportive when you need a lift.
