I am an amateur photographer who developed a passion for photography using a basic Olympus 35mm point and shoot originally bought to capture the stages of my child's development. As my passion for photography grew, I upgraded to digital and later to more advanced point and shoot models all the while experimenting with different subjects and composition. Last summer I finally joined the smart phone movement and got an iPhone, which I use frequently for capturing impromptu shots when my camera is not readily available. In December of 2015, I upgraded to a basic Samsung mirrorless because I want to take my photography to a new level. At this point I am just beginning to learn about the various technical aspects of photography.

As you will notice from the shots I post, I particularly enjoy taking creative photos of nature - anything from scene shots to close ups of individual components. I dabble a little with black and white because I am drawn to the stark contrasts and the dramatic results that can be achieved. Finally, my pets are also frequent subjects because I love trying to capture photos that express what I perceive to be their personalities.

I am strongly interested in learning the more technical aspects to photography and welcome any feedback.
