I LOVE it when MY WIFE lets me go hunting! by Robert Pearce Photography

So you are probably thinking "...I stumbled on this profile with some goofy guy with a camera by a lake". Well that's me, some goofy guy with a camera by a lake. Its actually a beaver pond but that's another story for later. I posted this as part of an introduction to who I am and what I do.

As I'm sure you concluded by now, I am Robert Pearce. I reside in the Central Valley of California, with mountains and coast just about at arms reach. Photography is my passion and I am constantly in pursuit of increasing my knowledge and bettering my skill. I am self taught and have been actively learning since around 2005/2006.

My interest in photography began as a child. My parents, and later myself, were patients of Dr. Michael Adams, son of the famous Ansel Adams. Dr Adam's waiting room contained some of his father's prints, which I would stare at in awe. At around the age of eleven I got my first camera, a Kodak Disk (circa 1982), and my parents took me to Yosemite. I still have a couple pictures from that trip, of which I'll post my favorite one of these days. Seeing the results of my creative interpretation started a spark that smoldered until adult hood, when it became a raging fire.

Between my preteen and adult years, I did not seriously pursue art, but never lost my appreciation for it. My mother is a gifted painter. Growing up, I spent much time going to studios and galleries. It was there that my vision of landscape composition was born. Today, I chase that vision though a viewfinder. I take advantage of living close to Yosemite by making frequent trips. I annually make pilgrimages to the Eastern Sierra in Fall and Death Valley in Spring. I am also a weather junkie and chase storms when I can. I am trying to add Arizona Monsoon trips to my annual trips as well.

I am currently in the process of upgrading my photo gear, especially lenses. My goal is to make my photography addiction self supporting, meaning equipment upgrades, occasional workshops, and travel. I am also starting to shoot weddings and portraits. My rates are very reasonable while I start this side of my photography business up. If you are interested in purchasing a print, a portrait sitting, or having an event photographed, please contact me at sierrasolstice@gmail.com for scheduling and rates.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile and I encourage you to return to my photostream as I share more images and experiences. My goal is to inspire creativity and honor the beauty around us all.
