I'm a former attorney and business executive living in central Pennsylvania with my camera-shy husband, Lee, and our photogenic cat, Winnie. A writer, as well, my short stories and essays appear in print journals and anthologies, and on the Web. The left and right sides of my brain are constantly at war, and in photography, I find the perfect union.
When I left a successful career in the business world to write fiction full-time, I was surprised to discover how difficult it was to write without the daily interactions with people and ideas that I had once thought interfered with the creative process. When I lost my creative edge, photography gave it back to me.
What I love most about photography is that it makes me feel very present in the world. All of my senses are heightened. In every image I make, there is story, and there is a moment in time, even if that moment is simply stillness. For me, shadows and light are the words on a page. My photographs are my stories. When I look through the lens of my camera, everything seems possible.
