Not only is James an absolutely fantastic photographer, whether shooting his family, himself, or whatever else he can find, he's also quite possibly one of the best friends anyone could ask for. His images are always incredibly emotive, and his self-portraits are a real delight. (But that might be also because of the hot model...) His photos also demonstrate his madd photoshop skillz. He's been kind enough to apply these skillz to the photos of other less-skilled individuals, and always does a fantastic job. In addition to being an excellent photographer, he's also just a nice guy with a wonderful sense of humor. And excellent taste in music.

SLM is one of those photographers that inspires one to become a better photographer. And I'm not just talking about his photographs, which are awesome, but also his inspirational and supportive words. He strikes me as the kind of guy who's there to catch you when you stumble and would have your back if you got into a bar brawl. I feel fortunate to have met him in my travels and look forward to watching him as he continues his photographic journey. (Wait..that last sentence sounded a little stalker-ish. Forget I said that part.)
