After living in Toronto for over 20 years, including a 10 year stint photographing for NOW Magazine, photojournalist R. Jeanette Martin has moved to the gulf island of Gabriola in the Salish Sea. Transplanting a street photographer from Canada’s largest urban centre into a landscaping job in the wilds of British Columbia could prove interesting. You can take the girl out of Toronto, but can you take Toronto out of the girl?

R. Jeanette Martin has been published in NOW Magazine, Toronto Star, Xtra!, Spacing, In Toronto and on the websites for Demotix, The Huffington Post and Yonge Street Media. She is also the official photographer for the TREE Fund's annual STIHL Tour des Trees bike rally fundraiser.
