I've been "blogging" since before blog was a word: Picture of the Day. With monk-like devotion, I'm making illuminated manuscripts for the 21st century, arranging text and image in one of a kind compositions to tell factual stories. When I started in 1997, you had to cloister yourself and learn the arcane idiom of hypertext markup language if you wanted an online photo gallery. That turned into a illustrated diary, a habit which once begun I haven't been able to shake.

I started with pure intentions and have deliberately kept out of step with prevailing internet trends, so you'll find no ads, trackers, or reductive gimmicks--it's where Web v.1 lives in all its quirky, non-commercial glory. Bicycling is a part of my daily life, but not in a competitive or spandex-y way. I just like it as a practical and enjoyable means of getting around Seattle. Meet my hero.
