As Neil Diamond once said... I am I said. I am a grandson. I am a son, I am a father to three, and a husband to two (though only one at a time). Luckily I am not yet a grandfather though that will be fun. I have an easy going spirit that sometimes intensifies. I have a temper but it is hard to find it. If you do, look out. I love all kinds of music. I can say that because the current Rap/hip-hop does not get classified as music. I love travel, photography, food, drink and art… but not nearly as much as I love my family. I will do anything for them and they know it. My wife says that I do not listen well… at least I think that is what she said. My kids are growing up and it scares me. I am growing old and that scares me. I honor the past and my ancestors, they are the reason for everything I am. I marvel at the progress that my grandparent’s generation had seen. From horse and buggy to space travel. I can not imagine the progress our generation will see. I can not imgine the damage that our generation can do. I am a hard worker who can not wait to retire. I love friends though I have very few close ones. Once you are one of them, you are one for life even if we do not see each other for months or years. I am trusting until you prove to me that you can not be trusted. I am tolerant of different points of view than my own as long as you can express those views with clarity and be respectful of mine and that of others. I hate hatred. I respect our government though I do not trust politicians. I do not believe anything they say… Republican or Democrat, Green, Brown or Black. I think that is sad. I believe in term limits especially at the national level. Nothing in this world is as corrupt as a ten term senator except perhaps city government in Chicago. I consider myself a republican but voted for other party candidates often. I believe that for every law that we pass, we should repeal 5. I hate the IRS. I believe that the tax code should be re-written to fit on one page. How is that for a new paperwork reduction act? Tax law should not determine how you save, invest, spend or live. I believe that we have the obligation to pay taxes and the right for those funds to be spent wisely. I believe in parents right to choose. Notice I did not say a woman’s right to choose. I do not believe in equality of the sexes. If they were equal, we would only need one. I believe that everyone regardless of their gender should be treated with dignity and respect. Do not claim to want to be treated equaly then expect the first cab to be yours when waiting in the rain. I believe women are better than men in many ways. We need soccer moms and den mothers in government. Women are more just. They are more tolerant. They can see through the most cleverly devised lies or excuses. They remember everything. They are beautiful… even the ugly ones. I believe that you should live your life your way. If you do not, no one else will. I believe that man or woman, straight or gay, you have the right to find and be with the love of your life. I found mine and I am a better man for it.
