Dear Joe and family- I am so saddened to hear of your loss of noble Giant Schnauzer Big Guy. Your photos of him on Flickr showed that you were unusually close to him and provided him with many challenging activities, to his physical benefit and satisfaction at accomplishment. Among the classics were toting cargo in saddlebags, hauling with the wagon, and the skatejoring video of him with shadow racing down the street. His lovely happy face looking out the car window shows how he felt about living with you. That one and the bear paws on the couch photo as well. Although you will feel pain for a while, it will change to realization that you and Big Guy both benefited greatly from having each other, even if for too short a time, and that it was your good fortune and his to have had any of that time at all. Rest in Peace, Big Guy, and may these photos of you inspire others to reach the same degree of involvement and affection with their own dogs, especially Giant Schnauzers.
