sensitive and fun....I tend to be a little on the sarcastic side about everything.

Geeze...can't believe it's been over a year since I've written here or really used the site. I just haven't had time to take really good pics and was having issues with my Kodak camera....then, about 2 months ago, the new pup ate it when my daughter left it on the table. This gave me an excuse to go get another one....chose to go with an SLR and it is definately taking some getting used to! It's like learning all over again - but maybe this time, I'll learn it and KNOW it by heart so my pictures improve. I need a creative outlet......sounds good to me!

Last night there was an absolutely VIBRANT sunset. There aren't any words...even vibrant just doesn't cut it. First, it stretched so far as your eye could see in amazing pinks and purples......then right where the sun would be (you could not see the sun) there was something I would describe as a cloud coming up from the center.....if you ever saw the movie the Ten Commandments with the fire clouds that protect them from the soldiers as they cross the sea, that is my best description. I was extremely bummed that I missed out on it and vow now to ALWAYS carry my camera no matter what. I will never see another one like it, nor have I ever.

SIX months????????? Jeeze, it didn't seem that long! It was a very busy summer and my photo taking really took a backseat to everything else. Today, I posted a few new pics and even toured the site a bit again because it had been so long. I'm not sure when I will have time again for my 'hobby'........I do know I've missed a boatload of great Hawk photos!

Started a new group today. Now twidling my thumbs waiting for the world of Flickrers to join it......I thought it was a brilliant idea myself. A group about photo's that we miss because we lack a camera or aren't set up to capture them when they happen.......it's called Crap I Missed it.......find it....join it....comon' ya know ya wanna!
I have to admit, I submitted a photo to a group and became a little frustrated by the same comment over and over so I withdrew the photo. Granted, the group is about getting criticism, but when the photo was 'meant' to be how it was (blurry.....wasn't really blurry to me, I just used a softening filter)......well, I'd had it. Anyway - just had to post my frustration.

Wow - June already. Last night we had some awesome storms roll through. Of course, by the time I decided to get outside & snap pics of the lightning there was none to be found. Hohum.

My photostream has been viewed alot now and I'm just shocked. This morning, I tried to better organize my sets so it is easier to view *exact* types of photos. I'll keep working at this. I appreciate all the views & especially all the comments. It makes me want to try to take better pictures & be more selective of the ones I choose to upload for people to view.

Looks like I am 10 away from 1000 views on my photostream so I thought I would write. As I look at the "intrestingness" page and see all the awesome photo's there, I am in awe of how crystal clear and well defined some people can get their photos. It's something to think about as I keep snapping away in ameteurville. I hope to someday get that single shot that puts me into that category - just once :-)

I saw my first hummingbird of the season today but just a glimpse. I will be watching for him/her tomorrow & hope to have photo's soon. Not that I don't love the Goldfinches, but I would still love to get something different soon.

Did I say photo taking slowed down? Well that was before my macro adapter came...my neighbors probably think I'm looney outside with my camera all the time...oh well.

Well, it says my photostream has been viewed by 500 people! I don't think I have 500 comments, so you all better get writing LOL. Be nice though :-)

Well the picture taking has slowed down a bit here mostly due to a new carpet install that seems to be taking forever. I will say I have been trying to get a picture of a hawk and of course I have seen 3 in the past several days and did not have my camera! When I take the camera - no hawk....a little frustrating. Hopefully soon.

Ok, it is apparent that I have too much time on my hands here....why is this so addicting? I'm spending most of the rest of the day getting something besides Flickr done....maybe :-)

Well, I am learning a little more about taking pictures. In the last several days, I am generally using an auto setting and adjusting the flash if needed. I also now am using a tripod, which seems to yield much better pictures. The only other thing that I am doing right now is trying not to go into the digital zoom with my camera. It's hard because I want to get 'real' close, but considering the pictures don't look as nice, I've abandoned it for the moment.
