Born in the tiny industrial hamlet of County Bridge, three miles South of the village of Denholme, near Keighley West Yorkshire, son of an Irish farmer turned textile worker. The family lived in a Victorian era terrace house with no electricity or plumbing, located on the edge of the North West Yorkshire Moors - a large wilderness area with a harsh climate on the slopes of the Pennine Mountains. Graduated from Bradford Regional College of Art in the summer of 1971 then migrated to a warmer climate - Sydney Australia, where he worked as an Advertising Designer/Art Director and surfed a lot.

Retired from advertising in 2003, migrated to Texas and took up a few hobbies - guitar, cowboy hats and photography.
