This is my main account, and it holds only the sky and birds of steel. Runways at dawn, the glint of duralumin in low sun, smoke curling from tyres and flame from the turbines, airflow separation over the wings, propeller blades blurring into a circle — the moments we spotters wait hours by the runway for.

Why two accounts instead of one? The reason is more mundane than the photography itself: because of the sanctions imposed on Russia, I can't pay for Flickr Pro — the usual payment methods simply don't work. And I've used up every last shot of my free 1,000-photo limit. Rather than saying goodbye to Flickr and to you, I split my archive by subject instead.
