Sheppard Air Force Base is located just north of Wichita Falls, Texas, and about 10 minutes from the Oklahoma border. It is part of Air Education and Training Command.

Sheppard was first established in the early 1940s to conduct basic military and technical training. Throughout the years, it has transformed into the Air Force's premier training installation, producing more than 60,000 graduates annually.
