I stepped into the world of photography with the birth of my first son roughly 8 years ago. Initially I thought that photography was a way to document family life as time was racing by, but I soon realized that it opened my eyes to seeing things in a whole new way.

Since that time I've shot 35mm film and digital, medium format film, and 4x5 film. Much of the early work on my Flickr page is scanned large format 4x5 film, however I've since moved on to shooting landscapes digitally. Ultimately I've decided that it's the image that matters - not the medium on which it's captured.

So what keeps me shooting? I love being outdoors and the thrill of the "hunt", chasing fleeting light, composing shots in the moment, working hard to get to a new destination and capturing it in a new way. Whether I get a keeper or not, I still love the act of making an image and being out shooting.
