Sheffield FC are recognised by FIFA as the world's first football club, founded in 1857.

Our aim is simple - to be every football fan's second favorite football club. If you are a fan of football, you should be a fan of Sheffield FC and recognise its unique place in the game of football globally.

The very first Sheffield FC members played against each other - married men against unmarried men, first half of the alphabet against second half of the alphabet, and so on. That was until three years later when Sheffield FC persuaded another local Sheffield club to form, Hallam FC, and thus competitive team football was born.

From writing the world's first football rulebook to the invention of many of the features of football we take for granted today - crossbars, corners, free kicks, throw-ins - Sheffield FC is steeped in footballing history.
