Shane, what can I say about you. This has been really hard for me to write. I have been trying for a while but it never seems quite good enough to me but hopefully you understand my words. I call you sunshine which you probably hate :-P oh well.. lol.. You are a ray of sunshine to me. Always there for a kind word or one hell of a laugh. A nutter you certainly are and better stay. Shane's photos are a mix of beauty, what he loves, some nutty bits and more than a few belly laughs. It's my honor to call him my friend. If you don't already know I adore you then you're daft since Ive already told you more than once. I couldn't think of a more apt name for Shane than "Cuddly Nutter". I thought I was as mad as a hatter but Shane beats me hands down!!! Probably the most GENUINE person I have ever met and I have met a lot of people in my life. Shane has had a few curve balls tossed his way but he has slogged them right back and right out of the ball park. Oh how he makes me laugh and I mean REALLY laugh. I swear he and I are both missing lungs because we laugh so much. You only have to look at his images to know that he loves live (and Paddy/Belleek/Waterford/Bushmills/his camera/the blue meanie/his friends), the photo of Shane with a nurse when he was a kid will be forever etched in my brain as that is Shane to an absolute T. Looking at Shane's stream is a delight! Shane can turn his hand to any form of photography - always different. But I think he excels at informal portraits of people engaged in all sorts of activities around Ireland. He manages to bring out the best in his subjects, putting them totally at ease and they are a delight to see. He has captured little snapshots of life in this province going back over 30 years - full of interest - some day I hope to purchase the book! Meantime I intend enjoying each new snippet and surprise that he comes up with.
