Train A Comin

A little background on us. We were married March 12th 2004 and haven't looked back. We're both divorced and proud of it.

Waiting for a Fare

Since then we've been working on our flower garden, train layout and taking care of the local livestock.(Goldfish,Koi,Toads,Frogs,Deer,Birds,Chipmunks and so on.) Our G Scale train layout started as an 8 x 12 around the entrance to our home and has grown every year.

Demolition Man

Every item on the layout was scratch built except for the cars and one house. The street and traffic lights are soldered of copper or brass then painted. The telephone poles are wooden and stained dowell rods with tacks as sissy sticks. The also carry live 12V DC power for a couple of the buildings and features on the layout. The roadway is concrete and also serves as a walking path through the garden to remove weeds and add plants. Most of the structures are make of recycled materials and are eco friendly.

Very rarely can I afford to buy something for the layout. Prices are out of this world and the loss of my job didn't help. So I set out to solve my own delimas. After the addition of the pond I had to build a bridge. I looked for almost a year to find suitable building material and after a lot of traial and error I came up with what you see today. Of course the pond got bigger and the bridge had to go. I threw it on eBay for kicks and giggles and was pleasantly suprised. They have been an awesome hobby ever since. We've got bridges in Canada,Australia,Finland,England,Brazil,Mexico,Norway and of course the good ole USA. Met a lot of great people along the way.

We custom build,sell and trade.
