Although I’d been taking pictures for many years – on disposable cameras, a Canon camera and an IPhone – I basically did it for myself. I had joined Flickr in 2010 but only occasionally posted photos on social media. In August, 2020, however, after a visit to the Central Park Zoo, my niece asked me to post some of those pictures on Flickr. After I did, I was amazed that anybody other than immediate family was looking. Since I had a substantial backlog of old pictures, I started posting in earnest (pictures old and new), and learned how to tag and group my photos. I also started to edit my photos (somewhat judiciously). I remain intrigued and flattered that anybody looks at my pictures. I just bought a new Canon camera, and I hope to improve as a photographer over time. – February 2021
