Hi! I'm Shad. I have had a interest in photography since I was a young child. I was influenced by a book I had when I was a kid. The book was full of vivid, colorful photos of crayons, toys, and burning candles. I wish I knew the name of the book because I'd like to have a copy now that I'm older. Over the years I have been interested in many things. Motorcycles and music being the highest. I have owned multiple motorcycles. I can also play drums and guitar. I also enjoy most forms of art as in tattooing, painting, and drawing. I enjoy computers, fabricating, repairing, and building things.

As a kid I remember taking photos with a Kodak 110 camera. I also remember how I could never get the desired outcome of my shots with that camera. I have owned many cameras in my lifetime...mostly just cheap point-and-shoots. Around 1995 I got my first film SLR. It was a Minolta SRT w/ a 50mm lens. I got some good results with it.

The bug really hit in 2007 with photography. This is where I really started having a lot more interest and reading up on it.

Moving on to 2011. I was in my bedroom watching TV and flipping through channels, I stumbled across QVC and they were displaying a Canon T3 kit with 2 lenses. I watched for a few minutes then walked out into my living room where my wife had also been watching the same thing. She gave me the go ahead to order it!

Since I had a DSLR in my hands I have learned a ton of new things that can be done with a camera. Most of what you see here is the result of that. I take my photography seriously. Unless I'm taking a picture of something funny!

My main interests in photography are motorcycle racing, night skies, landscape, and some still life. I'd really like to learn more on portraits. Also, most of my shots are "as shot" with little editing. I'm not a huge fan of highly manipulated photos. If you have to do a lot of editing to impress people with your shots, then the shot probably isn't that impressive to begin with.
