Sguà!'s most interesting photos on Flickriver

I love and practice photograpghy since when I was 20 years old, I spent nights and night sin darkrooms printing BW photos, and I still remember this as kind of magic.

I never wished that this came my job, I preferred to save it as a hobby, but I worked in publishing so to remain close.

I walked to digital in the year 2000 with a Canon Ixus.

Now I use photography specially in my journeys, and my son Ludovico (now 25) suggested me to join Flickr. It seems to me to be a great site and a great idea.

When I see all the flowers and sunsets and meadows and colours and smiles in the pictures coming from all over the world I can't avoid thinking: let's say the truth, actually this world is full of horrible things and for the most part of the humanity lives in a true hell.

As to this, everyone of us can do a little to make it better, if he wants to and if he can, maybe even using his camera.

In any case, if one cannot use photography as a weapon to fight for freedom and justice and dignity and wellness, at least, our photos can help everyone to remember ...

"what a wonderful world it could be"

As to flickr:

it is a genial idea.I like it much both for photography and as a social network where I found friends and interesting persons.

But...

I joined the groups to make my photos be seen and commented, as to receive a feedback that I had not got in all my life.

I've got awards, and really few comments. An senseless trade of awards if-you-give-me-five-awards-I-give-you-five-awards" absorsbing a lot of time (if-you-don't-award-five-photos-at-once-you'll-b-banned) but giving back just hundreds of generally horrible beans invading ans wastink the look of the page.

Then...

Some week ago I have abandoned the groups, as I stopped posting my photos there: now I have much less visit, that I admit being disappointing when you suddenly pass from 200 to 20, but I have increased true comments, people commenting my photos, often explaining me what is to be seen. appreciated, criticized, modified.

So...

a prayer: please don't give me awards, at least not " only , but tell me something about my photos. I'll always answer!
