In October 2016, we moved to the Oregon Coast. I've lived nearly all my life within an hour or two of the ocean (except for about nine months when Lake Michigan played the role quite nicely), but never directly ON the coast.
My phone tells me it's 271 steps from my front porch to toes in the sand. It's an interesting transition for us both, but we are loving the fact that most days, the loudest sound we can hear is the surf breaking just beyond the trees, unless it's a stormy night when we listen to rain pelting the metal roof of our little 1930 beach cottage.
We're both food and wine professionals; I write and photograph the dishes that my wife makes, or restaurants we review (check my web site, www.bellaculinary.com for more details). I'm also an automotive journalist, which is a lot of fun.

Scott's candor, good-natured wit, and charming way with words, turn a casual observer into a fan, and then friend, in very short order. People like Scott, all too rare, provide Flickr, and indeed the world, a welcome oasis of smiles, imagination, and fruitful introspection. Kudos!
First time I've written a testimonial. Love and admire the life he leads with his family. I am especially fascinated with the way he uses words, and his sense of humor. Amazing!
You've got to admire anyone as passionately devoted to Alfa Romeos as Scott is. The care and attention that those noble but temperamental cars demand shows in his photographs--everything in his pictures is exactly where and how it should be. He's got a good eye for just about everything.
Scott Fisher inspires me to be myself. He's real and he's honest. He tells it like it is and I trust him. How many people can you say that about in life?
