I'm a weekend quilter who loves all things modern. My favorite things are finding new modern fabrics to play with, improvisational piecing, and hand-quilting.

I'm lucky enough to have a quilting mama, who taught me everything I know and got me my first sewing machine (before that she used to let me use her Bernina! That's love!!). My first full-sized quilt was finished in 2006-- a gift for my husband that reawakened my love of this art form.

I use a Singer Featherweight or a Bernina Activa PE. Recently I found a 1900s treadle in good condition and I'm looking forward to learning how to use it.

I live happily in San Francisco with my husband and twin boys.
