I'm a retired elementary teacher, birder, scrapbooker, amateur photographer, hiker, traveler, reader ,gardener ,mother, widow, friend - in no particular order. Well, teaching came first in time in my adult life, but mothering was closest to my heart. Now I am a grandmother to a 4 year old who is the light of my life, and I am in a relationship with a fellow photographer. Life is good for the moment.

I joined Flickr some 8 years ago, but was very unsure of myself and pretty much stopped posting as soon as I started. Through a new friend, I again became aware of Flickr and decided to post a few of my personal favorites, which turned into all photos which I remotely even liked. I use a point and shoot but have been especially interested in macros of spring wildflowers, and now of course, like any grandmother, I take numerous pictures of my one and only grandchild.
