"We artists are indestructible; even in a prison, or in a concentration camp, I would be almighty in my own world of art, even if I had to paint my pictures with my wet tongue on the dusty floor of my cell." -- Pablo Picasso

PHOTOGRAPHY GENESIS- God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Darkness

It began for me as a boy taking photos. My parents both took photos as did there parents. Both my Mother and Father had SLR's. I started by getting a camera referred to me by my oldest brother Peter. (120 mm Russian made Lubitel lubitel-resource.tripod.com/) My father had his own darkroom and my mother worked as a photogaphy retoucher. My Great Grandfather Rudolf Haig was listed as one of New Zealands earliest photographers in the year 1878 in Greymouth.

I love great images that consider the human condition. I'm interested in what we do between birth and death. My photos are a work in progress.

My photo stream is a record when I started my flickr site in June 2005 (I used to take less than average shots then). I had taken a break from taking photos for more than 2 decades to run a business and help bring up a family. I had a little compact 3 mega pixel camera and started taking photos again in February 2005. I took crap pictures. It's fun for me to document my progress on flickr. My goal is excellence. It amuses me to see my progress. There are many photographers on flickr and on the Web who inspire me, so to them thank you. Thank you for all your useful tips and lovely emails that continue assist my progress.
