It’s kind of like the age old question: What came first, the chicken or the egg? Rock music critic Sergio Rok assures us that his surname did not drive him into music, though the convenience of it cannot be overlooked. He is poised to launch “Rok on Rock” a new blog that will be providing the Rok’s signature brand of music criticism to a much wider audience. Rok did a stint as a DJ on several Denver rock radio stations before deciding to pen his first “Rok on Rock” column. Not only is he a husband and a father to two young girls, he is also the voice staged to launch a new late night Internet Radio show “Rok on Rock.” The radio show will combine elements of the past as it combs rock’s history to make sense of the direction rock and roll has gone in the 21st century.

When not involved in one of his many pursuits, he can be found shuttling his twin daughters to and from their gymnastics practices. Rok is also active in the Greater Denver German Shepherd rescue and has two Shepherds of his own named Cupcake and Sugar. “My daughters named them,” he is quick to add. Like most Coloradans, Rok is an avid skier and recently took up snowboarding. To that, he says “That which does not kill us makes us stronger, that’s the saying, right?” One thing is for sure, Rok lives up to the high bar his name sets. Sergio Rok most certainly rocks. Stay tuned to find out more about Sergio Rok.
