Welcome to my monochrome world, where nostalgia, artistry, and imperfection converge. I’m Sergei Pushnof, a fine art photographer with a deep-rooted passion for black-and-white imagery. My journey began in elementary school with a simple East German Perfekta Achromat film camera. Since then, photography has become more than a craft—it’s my lifelong creative pursuit.

Today, I work with both digital and vintage film cameras, including Nikon classics like the F, F3, and Hasselblad 500 C/M, as well as my trusted Nikon D810. My work embraces the beauty of analog processes, handmade lenses, and experimental compositions. Each photograph reflects my philosophy: 20% gear, 60% composition, and 20% post-processing—a balance that lets the story lead, not the technology.

When it comes to processing, I strive for minimal post-processing—no AI, just traditional darkroom-inspired techniques. This includes standard dodging and burning, contrast adjustments, and fine-tuning to maintain the natural authenticity of the scene.

Many of my images have been captured in California’s diverse landscapes, from fog-covered coastal scenes to tranquil gardens and rustic wooden crafts. You’ll also find select works from Oregon and beyond, showcasing serene driftwood-strewn beaches and forgotten boats resting in quiet harbors. My photography evokes silence, mystery, and timeless emotion—often inspired by the interplay of fog, light, and texture.
