I love the way she has taken her own lovely, youthful form and turned it into the central point of her art in these elegantly rendered self-portraits, representing the various sides of womanhood, as I experience them: the soft, the graceful, the powerful, the vulnerable, the beautiful, etc. Complimented with her own expressive verse, the artist offers her audience a truly intimate look into creative vision at work, through the eyes of a sensitive soul. It has been a great joy to watch the growth of sera_leaving as a photographer here. Her self portraiture has taught me the value of restraint as a photographer in bringing up the viewer's interest just enough without giving away too much. As I write this now, she's only just getting started in this lifelong pursuit. And while we all take many years learning the technical aspects of the photographic arts, sera_leaving has a natural eye for it. This is something that can never be taught. I watch with great anticipation as she grows as a photographer and feel truly fortunate to count her as a friend.
