new news:

congratulations are in order - i got married on april 22nd, 2006! my wife has been featured of course in random images here and there.... i will be uploading a set from the ceremony by next week, and i think i will be going "Pro" on my account in May also finally - so there will be room to hold many,many more images at last!

 

note to my contacts and friends: i recently updated and edited quite a few images, some of them have had settings changed which leads to a loss of favorited images, please be sure to check your faves or re-scan my stream and renew them if need be.

... old beyond my years, yet young enough to still look good! (thank my Dutch Heritage for that i suppose!)

  

i am by no means a "professional" in any sense of the word - been taking pictures since a youngster with whatever would work to capture those moments, and feel that even with schooling in Fine Arts behind me and a fairly good grasp of the mechanics of "ART", it is not a label to place on anyone - qualified or not - there is always a "Student" inside every one of us.

  

i take pictures - to be manipulated, to be remembered for later times, to provoke or amuse, and i feel that to "see" or "get" or even attempt to understand any of them is highly subjective... i am a fan of technology - yet i prefer very rudimentary and obsolete methodology to process what i see.

  

i hope only that some of them cause the viewer to step back (literally!) to better see or get or understand my approach or intent. heavily textured, highly colorful at times, definately not for the faint of heart at most....... i am continually fascinated by the Human Form in all it's various permutations, and hope only to capture moments of it as we all pass thru here... give them a look, comment away save as favorites, freely take and use (as long as some credit is given somewhere via links back or noted)

the "tame" stuff is readily available here in my sets and photostreams, ask to become friend or family if you want the rest of it!

 

most of my contacts below are fellow bloggers, and/or Group Member's i belong to here at Flickr... but there is just so much more here to explore, and opening window after window i continually find myself lost from my first intent by all i see here in this Community - there is a lot of fantastic imagery and very creative workflows going on....... spend a day or a week, and we still won't see all of it! so, join a Group or two or more, join a discussion, just remember to never attack a fellow Flickr'er, but well thought out criticism (read: a view or opinion based on tastes or subjectivity of that specific individual) is always appreciated by any and should be accepted at what that is - good or bad! (it's never an "attack" on us unless it gets personal in some way... and no need for that, now is there?)
