I discovered Rob’s work very early when I became a flickr member and as he lives local to me he soon became not only a contact but also a friend. What can I say that has not already been said. I make no secret of the fact that during my early days of digital photography it was his work that encouraged and influenced me to go out and look at the landscape and indeed all subject matter in a different way. To get the most out of landscape and nature photography you need to have an understanding and feeling for the subject and this comes through in abundance in Rob’s work. Thank you Rob for sharing your wonderful images and thank you for all your help, support and comments during my time on flickr.

Just enjoyed viewing his photostream as a slide show and all I can say is Rob, your image-making is of exceptional quality and beauty. You are truly an inspired photographer. I encourage all to take a few minutes and enjoy - as a slide show - the lyrical, atmospheric, and bucolic scenes of Rob's home country by an artist who clearly feels the beauty of nature and the land with all his heart. Seen as a group this selection of images resonates with a message of deep abiding peace.

Rob is one of the very best landscape photographers on Flickr. His photos of the English countryside are truly outstanding. I’m very conservative in my use of the “fave” key because I want to be able to view either outstanding works of art or shots that inspire and teach me to become a better photographer. Rob’s photos usually fall into one of those categories. His compositions are always very creative and his use of light is masterful. Rob has made the leap from great photographer to an artist with a camera. In addition to being one of the best photographers, his group “Photographing Landscapes” is in my opinion the best showcase for landscape photography on Flickr. If you want to see some of the best photos on this site, I would advise you to not only to check out the pictures but also the contests he runs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for sharing his considerable talent with us, but also giving us a place to show quality work.
