Senator Richard T. Moore is currently serving his seventh term in the Massachusetts Senate representing the southern Worcester County area of Central Massachusetts.
Senator Moore's extensive public service experience spans the spectrum from local to state to federal offices. He served his hometown of Hopedale as a selectman for eight years before serving as a nine-term State Representative from 1977 to 1994. That year, President Clinton appointed him as Associate Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency where he led efforts to develop a national strategy to mitigate the damage caused by natural disasters.
Senator Moore returned to the State House in 1996, winning a special election to fill the vacated Worcester and Norfolk Senate seat.
